Enid High School Gym

Enid High School Gym + Performing Arts Center

Enid High School’s Gym and Performing Arts Center was completed in early 2020 as the flagship project for the $92 Million bond issue that passed in 2016. The gym seats 2,000+ providing a high quality competitive venue for Pacers and Plainsmen athletes. The Performing Arts center gives the district a state of the art facility for digital arts, drama, and music students to showcase their talents. Jessica and Michael utilized their abilities to oversee the $24M facility from design development through final construction.

Chesapeake Building One

Chesapeake Building One was built in the center of Chesapeake Energy's campus to consolidate all of their top management. It was envisioned as a modern jewel in the heart of a traditional Georgian campus. Michael spearheaded this project from beginning of design to the end of construction while working with Elliott + Associates. This project is one that garnered Michael a national award for design excellence.

Advance Soccer Complex

Jessica Nelson led the initial community wide efforts of the Enid Sports Association to construct the new $9 million Advance Soccer Complex. The facility is being built on 127 acres and including soccer fields, playgrounds, and a clubhouse. There will be recreational fields and a Championship Stadium. Jessica has worked to develop partnerships with Enid Public Schools, Northern Oklahoma College and the NJCAA to use the Championship Stadium.

Master Planning

We have extensive experience with master planning, bond issues, campus master plans and historic district preservation plans. At Nelson+Shuck we use specialized public engagement techniques that we have developed over decades to maximize the amount and quality of responses we get from the participants in our sessions. We use experienced facilitators to create a transparent process that increases participants willingness to buy into our solutions which increase public support.

Safety and Security Upgrades

We led a district wide program to improve school security. At Taft Elementary, we added cameras, fencing, access control and a security vestibule. The security vestibule added a high level of security in a beautiful and unintrusive way.

Playgrounds

We love working on projects that improve our community. We have created playgrounds, soccer felids, basketball courts, and even pickleball courts. Some of the most rewarding are playgrounds like the ones at Monroe Elementary and on Vance Air Force Base at Eisenhower Elementary.

Library of the Future

We converted a 1950’s era library into a library of the future. We added a learning cafe, a flexible classroom, shelving, and an exciting new Makerspace. We help with a lot of interesting problems.
